In an effort to provide our readers with the most comprehensive coverage of the current retail climate, Transworld Business has put together a monthly report on how specialty and department stores are performing based on same-store sales results over the past thirteen months.

Comparable store sales continue to rise for Zumiez—a trend that has continued for the retailer over the last few months, with June comps up 10.9% compared to a 7.1% increase in the prior four-week period.  The Buckle’s comparable store sales were down 7.3% for June, compared to a 5.4% decrease in May. Nordstrom saw a jump in sales, with total revenue up 19.8% and a  14.1% increase in comps, compared to a 3.7% increase in comparable store sales last month. Kohl’s comps were also slightly up by 5.9%.
