Sohu, Xingyoutianxia (A magazine mainly about travel) and Meijing (The website of the travel) hold the online vote activity to select the  "China Breathtaking Scenic Spots", the result works out. Four of Xinjiang tourist destination is awarded "China Breathtaking Scenic Spots". They are: Yili Grassland, Kanas Lake, the ancient village along Kanas Lake and Kizil Thousand-Buddha Grottoes. After the vote, 238 scenic spots are awarded "China Breathtaking Scenic Spots".

Tuwa people lives in the ancient viallage along Kanas, the population is about 1,400, they mainly live on the farming work, hunting and fishing. They live in the wood house, the roof is pointed, which is built according to the local climate.

In 2008, more than 22,000,000 tourists vist Xinjiang, and more than 400,000 are foreigners. The revenue of Tourism is accounted for 6.8% of Xinjiang GDP. Xinjiang invests 30,000,000 RMB to develop the tourism in 2009, and 60,000,000 RMB in 2012. Xinjiang develops not only   the scenic spots, but the ice and and snow tourism, border tourism and countryside tourism.
