Recently, I made a statistics for Chinese tourism websites, concluded how many websites page rank level was higher 6. I hope let more people learn the situation of Chinese tourism and outdoor websites, especially for the tourism or outdoor information insiders, finding more high quality web links. The PR reflects the status in the industry to some extent.  

The following are the top 10 travel and outdoor website in China

Two of the top three are government-natured websites http://www.bjta.gov.cn and  http://www.cnta.com so it is very easy to reach PR 8, but to the Elong, a completed commercial websites a little incredible go PR8.

To have a look at the second group of PR7, four of their business involves the whole country, the other four are local travel websites. www.8264.com, specializes in outdoor information, whose forum is very popular with concurrent users of over ten of thousands. Another national travel websites Lotour and City Trip, both of whom have strong cooperation partners or background, getting plenty of help from them. In other words, that is not so easy for the website like 8264 to get a high PR ratings in the fierce competition.          

About PageRank (PR)

PageRank is a link analysis algorithm that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents, such as the World Wide Web, with the purpose of "measuring" its relative importance within the set. The numerical weight that it assigns to any given element E is also called the PageRank of E and denoted by PR(E).

The PageRank of a page is defined recursively and depends on the number and PageRank metric of all pages that link to it ("incoming links"). A page that is linked to by many pages with high PageRank receives a high rank itself. If there are no links to a web page there is no support for that page.
