Recently, First National Mountain Sports Competition was held in Qianxinan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, marking China outdoor sports well-developed on a certain scale, coming to common people’s daily life. The flourishing outdoor sports provide momentum to the whole outdoor industry. TO face the precious fact, and to expect a beautiful future, 5 questions seem to measure the 5 dimensions of China outdoor industry.
Firstly it is the definition of outdoor sports. At present there is a trend that is only climbing, camping, trekking, mountaineering, drifting ,skiing and some other extreme sports are the outdoor sports in China , it seems only spending much time and money for outdoor sports could have the feeling of accomplishment. I don’t know whether it is a misunderstanding or not. According to international definition of outdoor sports "people do effective and appropriate exercises outside", it is not hard to do it and doesn’t need much money and time in fact. Outdoor sports don’t mean buying top brand equipments, challenging yourself and the nature’s extreme sports.
Secondly Shenzhou VII Space Mission’s success raises a new topic – high-tech civilianization. As to the outdoor industry, how’s about the self-innovation. Frankly to say, it is hard to see the real Chinese local outdoor brands, no matter in finished goods or fabrics, sewing and processing techniques. However, some high scientific and technical payoffs and advanced skills of mechanical automation can be applied in the industry; Chinese brands should be waiting to emerge.
The third is using scientific development perspective to direct outdoor sports. How’s going about the adjusting and upgrading of outdoor industrial structure? What is our outdoor equipments’ core competitiveness? Definitely it is not the slender profits of original equipment manufacturing. If engaging in the low-profit manufacturing and selling, it is conceivable to image Chinese outdoor equipments’ fate. But how to change the situation, outdoor experts and insiders must deal with the pressing problem.
Fourthly, the input-output ratio of outdoor sports. The purpose of doing outdoor sports is not to high consume and not craze to vie international brands with each other. Of course, outdoor sports can stimulate consumption to some extent. In my view, we can strengthen out body, train the will, unite the team, improve the workshop ability and performance since we input time and money in it, that is the real input-output of outdoor sports.
The last one, how is about our outdoor industry’s chain development. Generally speaking, a new raising industry is descendable when the traditional industries are blending with each other, take an example, outdoor industry’s raising has integrated the related sources of tourism and sports industry. More importantly, integration of the resources is to create value, realize value in the whole industrial circulation.
