Aspen Skiing Co. announced that all of its approximately 500 salaried employees will be required to wear helmets while working on the mountain beginning next season. Additionally all ski school students under 18, as opposed to 13 and under, must wear helmets.

All terrain park and halfpipe students and instructors teaching someone who must wear a helmet will have to wear helmets too.

Ski patrollers and lift attendants aren’t part of the salaried staff.

Last season Vail Resorts started requiring helmets for employees skiing or snowboarding on the job and for children ages 12 and under in ski school group lessons, while Intrawest required them for youth in ski school and students of any age in freestyle terrain parks.
