Asia Outdoor Trade Show launched 2010 press conference in Beijing on October 8. Guests presented included Deputy Mayor of Nanjing Municipal Government, Asia Outdoor consultant, Director-general of Nanjing exhibition industry office and Asia Outdoor team. Also the press conference invited the CEO of TOREAD and other outdoor brands representatives and dealers. And mass media and professional media, including CCTV, Voice OF CHINA, INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS DAILY, CHINA TRADE NEWS, CHINA PHOTO PRESS, CHINA YOUTH NEWS, BEIJING TV, BEIJING YOUTH DAILY, THE BEIJING NEWS, Sina.com, Youku.com, 8264.com, lvren.com, AIPINIST, OUTSIDES, OUTDOOR GEARS, etc.

Rapid and Sound Development

Asia Outdoor Trade Show witnessed the momentum and development of Chinese outdoor industry. Since the first Asia Outdoor in 2006, as the trade platform, Asia Outdoor saw the growth of the industry. Data shows the total volume of retail sales of outdoor section reached USD530 million, maintaining an approximately 50% annual growth rate since 2006; it is estimated that the total volume will be over USD700 million in 2009, and USD1.4 billion in 2010.

2006 Aisa Outdoor attracted 174 brands, 6734 trade visitors, 270 journalists, covering an exhibition area of 20,000sqm. 3 years later, Asia Outdoor has grown into the largest professional trade show for outdoor gears. In the 2008 Asia Outdoor, the exhibition area reached 24,000sqm with 245 brands and visitors over 10,000. The rapid development surprised the Asia Outdoor cooperator, Messe Friedrichshafen Co., Ltd, the organizer of Outdoor Show; its Marketing Director Mr. Ludwig Meier said, the scale of Asia Outdoor in its third year had reached that of the fifth Outdoor Show.

Asia Outdoor reached a record high in 2009 in terms of scale, the number of exhibited brands and influence. The exhibition area has been expanded to 25,000sqm, with 288 brands, 14,344 trade visitors and 351 journalists. Asia Outdoor has become the best platform for brand and product display, trade and information, as well as the annual festival of outdoor industry in China.

Strong Cooperation and Support

Sponsored by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Nanjing Municipal Government, China General Chamber of Commerce and China Outdoor Commerce Alliance being the special supporter, organized by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Nanjing Branch, Messe Friedrichshafen Co., Ltd, and Nanjing Nantex International Exhibition Center Co., Ltd., Asia Outdoor has gained strong support in all directions, such as assistance from European cooperator in oversea business attraction and publicity, and the cooperation with Taiwan Textile Federation brings factories from Taiwan to Asia Outdoor every year. At the meantime, as an international trade show and platform, Asia Outdoor is expected to promote the cooperation and advancement of outdoor industry in Nanjing, its surrounding area, Asia and world at large.

Asia Outdoor grows with the industry. Focus on outdoor and being professional is always what Asia Outdoor strives for. During four years, more and more international brands step into Chinese market through Asia Outdoor, and local brands have achieved success.

And in the year 2010, Asia Outdoor will greet its 5-year birthday, while in the same year, World Expo will be held in Shanghai. The estimated 3.5 million visitors to Expo will be a great opportunity for urban tourism and outdoor industry. As the neighbouring city of Shanghai, and important city in delta region, 2010 Asia Outdoor will step into a higher level.

Therefore Asia Outdoor will adopt a series of measures, aiming to present 2010 Asia Outdoor a trade show with over 300 brands and 30,000sqm exhibition area.

1. Bring oversea exhibiters to Asia Outdoor. The oversea office of Asia Outdoor has been in touch with outdoor associations of Italy, Spain, and Scandinavia, Norway, Sweden and Denmark included.

2. Bring exhibitors to Outdoor Show in Germany. From 2010 Asia Outdoor will organize its clients to attend or visit Outdoor Show.

3. Offer efficient business-matching service. A special space will be set in exhibition hall for business-matching service, which will be offered to oversea brands and Chinese companies. The topic of business-matching could be seeking brand agency, processing, import/export, etc.

4. Launch Asia Outdoor Industry Designing Award program.

5. Perfect services. The Asia Outdoor website is being upgraded. The finished new website will allow exhibitors to fill and print application form online; and a 3-year-without registration-visitor card is designed for visitors who attend Asia Outdoor consecutively, offering free lounge and other preferential treatment.
