According to the report China Antarctic Zhongshan Station received, China Antarctic Inland ice-dome Expedition successfully has moved over 300 km, trekked across the hard section since set off from Zhongshan Station.

The Expedition formally started on December 22.It reached the place 2405 meters above sealevel, 334 km from the Zhongshan Station until 28. All the members have neen healthy, full of spirit, and implemented medical research, remote sensing, Ridar measuring ice and glacier inspection and other scientific research programs along the way.

This Expedition aims to reach at the highest point of Antarctic inland glacier sheet -Dome A ,4093 m above sea level, apart from Zhongshan Station 1228 km, about 1300 km by autos. It is full of ice cranny, hilly sloped, ascends 10m on average one kilometer, very hard for autos crossing. In addition, the loads of the autos are very heavy for motorcade just started and loaded many goods and materials supplying the expedition.

At present, it is summer in Antarctica; the snow surface is melting makes traveling more difficulty. On 25, one of snow land Tractor went wrong, however recovered after one-day rush repair.  

Currently, China Antarctic Inland ice-dome Expedition has kept touched with Zhongshan station at fixed time by shortwave phone and satellite phones everyday, and Zhongshan station report ice-dome research progress  to the captain and deputy captain of China’s 24th scientific expedition to Antarctica in "xuelong" ship . China’s Antarctic expedition ship "Xuelong" set off on December 23, now is heading to Great wall Station for scientific research and supply.
