The Director of Mountaineering Administrative Center of the State General Administration of Sports Li Zhixin revealed in an interview on December 24 that the task of Beijing Olympic Torch Relay to Everest would be implemented at some time next year; the Beijing Organizing Committee of the 2008 Olympic Games (BOCOG) would release the detailed time schedule. Very close-mouth Director Li neither released the Torch bears name list and composition information nor answer the number of the team. 

"At present, the selected bears are on intense training" was his only definitely answer reply. He said as all the information of the Olympic Torch Relay to Everest should be announced by the BOCOG, he could not release the composition of the bears, their names and sex, the task latest development and when how many people would summit up, the any details related to the task.   

At the same day, Sichuan Province Sports Bureau announced at Rong city China Sports Lotteries National Masses Uphill& Fitness Event and Mount Qingcheng Mountaineering Challenge will be held at Mount Qingcheng Dujiangyan City. Its start point is the scenic area gate and end at Shangqing Place, the whole journey is 5.5 Km, destination elevation is 1180m.   

With the theme "Sports for all, Keep pace with Olympic", there are 500 mountaineers to participate in the event, including the Olympic Torch Relay Bears candidates, and Provincial organ teams, various city teams, enterprise teams, college teams, international friends teams ,open selected team and Lucky Men team. To create a better social and sports atmosphere for the coming Olympic year, the related departments would organize Chi sword, martial arts, lion dance, drumming and Taoist culture and other outdoor sports  of fitness displaying and performance.
