Xiamen Customs had confirmed to reporters on 16 that the tens of thousands boy apparels seized by the Dongdu Customs recently have been found to infringed the FIFA copyright. It is the first apparels‘ case found in delivery channel, suspected of infringing copyright in Dongdu Customs.
The Customs officers said that the apparels are more than 13,000 suits, declared to Customs by a trade company in Fujian province. The FIFAWORLDCUP logo is marked on the paper-made label of the apparels.
By the risk analysis, the DongDu Customs officers judged that these apparels are suspected to infringe the FIFA copyright (full named ’‘International Federation of Association Football World Cup prizes’) that has been reported to the General Administration of Customs for record, right then they immediately contacted the owner of the copyright to identify. On November 12,the trademark owner of “FIFA Would Cup”?graphic? made confirmation of trademark rights infringement by letters.
It is said that China‘s General Administration of Customs has launched a half-year (dated from November1, 2007 to March 31, 2008) special action, code-named “Dragon Boat action” to protect intellectual property rights .During the period of time, XiaMen Customs has enhanced the intensity of controlling and examining for the footwear, apparels’ products and other kinds of goods export to America and Europe (included Hong Kong and Dubai).. Within 40 days after the Action began, DongDu Customs have found 8 cases of copyright infringement, involving the “levi‘s”, “nike”, “adidas”, “puma,” “diese” and others of the 10 brands.
