The fifth edition of Ispo China was successfully held at CIEC in Beijing on February 19-21. More than 300 brands from 20 countries gathered together at the 25, 000 square meters exhibition hall, presenting the latest and most authoritative sports and outdoor industry chain to the mass. The show provided a good chance for the brands companies, dealers, designers ,medias and athletes to have face-face communication and discussion.
As one of the highlights at the show, COCA released "2008 Annual Report on China Outdoor Market" that was the first outdoor market report released by one domestic outdoor organization. The report had made specific research for 48 representative outdoor brands, 27 outdoor shop and 100 malls from 20 typical cities, and mainly investigated Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Shenzhen,Chendu, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Xi’an, Shenyang and Urumqi with regional characteristics, thoroughly analyzed the general situation of those cities’ outdoor market, and made statistics on the 2008 China outdoor market from brands, channels and sales.
According to the report, China outdoor market had steadily developed, the outdoor brands was up to 415 with increase rate of 9.16%; the total volume of retail sales was 3.78 billion RMB Yuan with a growth of 42.72% compared to the previous year; the sales channel building had displayed fine development tendency with 1,285 special outdoor stores and 1,620 shopping mall stores. Most importantly, China outdoor market had remained healthy development, less affected by the world economy recession; the competition among the brands had been heating up and the outdoor giants had occupied more market shares.
