The Russian Julia Abramchouk wins her fist gold medal and becomes World Champion in Boulder 2009. Second place goes to Olga Shalagina (UKR), bronze medal to Austrian Anna Stoehr.
The four final boulders set by route setter legend Jacky Godoffe (FRA) were very demanding especially on technical aspect and required from the six final women a world-class performance. Julia Abramchouk started with ease in the competition, doing the first two boulders in first try leading by far. Boulders 3 and 4 were finally not topped out, so the result became a close call between Olga Shalagina (UKR), Mina Marcovic (SLO) and Anna Stoehr (AUT). Olga won silver, Anna finally bronze because of the better result in semi-final compared to Mina.
Again a great Boulder event is finished. Now the 10th World Championships go on with the final Men Lead and Men Speed 15m. A spectactular show can be expected.
