NBC JEEP® WORLD OF ADVENTURE SPORTS® TRAVELS TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH IN THE JAN. 27 EPISODE

PORTLAND, Maine, Jan 25, 2008--Jeep World of Adventure Sports® (JWOAS), an action and adventure sports series, will air on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT. Host Pat Parnell of NBC Sports travels to Bulcher, Texas, and Red Bull Last Man Standing to present the opening episode of the 2008 season.

The next episode will feature:

• The Jeep Union Square Street Sessions Qualifiers: Held at both Mountain Creek and Sunday River Resorts, the qualifiers will be the penultimate decision maker as two lucky amateurs are chosen to compete against some of the world’s top snowboarders at the largest Urban Rail Jam in the United States.
• The Last Desert-Antarctica: Watch as competitors test themselves against the violent weather and deadly conditions of the Antarctic Peninsula. This seven-day, six-stage, 250-kilometer footrace marks the last and, arguably, the most challenging phase of the 4 deserts series.
• Red Bull Last Man Standing: JWOAS heads to the Red River Motorcycle Trails in Bulcher, Texas for the infamous speed and endurance challenge. Though 100 motorcycles and their hopeful riders start the epic bike battle, the number of finishers makes the event’s name very telling.
• Teton Gravity Research: In the spring of 2006, Marc Andre Belliveau, one of the original pioneers of freestyle backcountry skiing, was paralyzed in a ski accident. Less than a year later, Marc is back with a snowmobile and sit ski. JWOAS profiles Belliveau’s triumphant return to the mountains in an outrageous display of powder riding, cliff hucking, and straightlines.

About the Jeep Brand
The Jeep brand expanded to seven nameplates in the 2007 model year, the most available to retail consumers at one time in the brand’s 66-year history. With the introduction of the all-new 2008 Jeep Liberty mid-size sport-utility vehicle (SUV), the Jeep brand offers customers the freshest, most capable and widest range of sport-utility vehicles under one brand in the industry.

At the start of 2004, the brand’s trio of tough, capable, rugged SUVs included the venerable Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Liberty (Cherokee outside North America) and the icon of the brand, the Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep Commander was introduced in 2005 followed in 2006 by the all-new Jeep Wrangler. Three more all-new Jeep vehicles: Jeep Patriot, Jeep Compass and the four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited also made their debut in the 2006 calendar year.
